Generate/8964.gif Wavelet Selection

The View Mother Wavelet option is available in the Continuous Wavelet Spectrum (3D Surface), Continuous Wavelet Spectrum (2D Contour), Continuous Wavelet Spectrum Frequency Range, and Continuous Wavelet Spectrum Time Range in the Spectral menu, and in the Wavelet Smoothing and Denoising and Wavelet Filtering and Reconstruction options in the Process menu.

This option is used to view a graph of the mother wavelets used in the Continuous Wavelet Transform procedures. A dual AutoSignal graph presents both a time and frequency domain plot of the mother wavelet.

Wavelet

You can select the Morlet, Paul, or GaussDeriv wavelet. The wavelet will be complex in the time domain if the Complex box is checked. The Adj field sets the adjustable parameter for the mother wavelet. For the Morlet, this will be the wavenumber and the range will be from 6 to 20. For the Paul wavelet, the order can vary from 4 to 40. For the Derivative of Gaussian wavelet, the derivative order can vary from 2 to 80.

Generate/8910.gif If the dialog is closed with the OK button, the algorithm from which this option was launched will be updated with this wavelet and its current settings.
